Dallin H. Oaks, member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was a participant in a forum at Notre Dame. Conviction and Compromise: Being a Person of Faith in a Liberal Democracy also included panelists from four other faiths. Elder Oaks emphasized the political neutrality of the Church while noting that members are encouraged to use personal inspiration to make daily choices, including political ones.
